Diane (Inactive) |
Diane first saw real belly dancing at a restaurant called Marrakech in Honolulu. She was fascinated by the grace and beauty of the dance and the strength and agility of the dancer. She started taking cabaret belly dance classes from Marjorie in Cheyenne about five years ago. After seeing Desert Rain perform at an event Diane knew that tribal was the style of dance she wanted to do. She started taking classes with Desert Rain in Fort Collins and was hooked on the dance and the connection between dancers that tribal style belly dance fosters. Diane is an honorary company member living in Fort Scott, Kansas. |

Lonnie (Active) |
Lonnie started belly dancing because she needed a creative outlet and she and her friend, Stacy, decided it would be fun to start together. She has been dancing since May or June 2006. She thinks the dance is really great because, no matter how stressed out she is when she starts, she’s always feeling better when she dances. Lonnie also enjoys the fact that, in tribal style, there are no choreographed dances to memorize! She’s a mother of Zoie, 8, and a senior majoring in Chemistry at CSU. |

Nancy (Active) |
Nancy has been belly dancing since 1974 when she first took lessons from her grandmother, Opal. She has a master’s degree in education; training in ballet, modern, jazz, and folk dance as well as in various belly dance styles. She fell in love with tribal style the first time she saw FCBD’s “Tattooed One” video about ten years ago. Nancy especially loves the powerful connection, communication and sense of community that group improvisation creates among tribal dancers. |

Stacy (Active) |
Stacy is 27 and a full time student at CSU. When not at school, she works as a veterinary technician in the Fort Collins area. She’s married and lives with a small zoo :). Dancing in some form has been an important part of her life since she was 5 years old and she has been belly dancing for about a year. Stacy is completely in love with all things tribal and plans to continue dancing for the rest of her life! |

Suzie (Active) |
Suzie has been belly dancing since age 9. She was hooked from the beginning — dancing in demonstrations for Girl Scout groups and taking lessons. Eager to share the art form with her friends, Suzie took classes from her mother with groups of them before moving on to higher levels. Suzie also started a teen troupe, the Elements, which disbanded after a while. That didn’t discourage Suzie as she moved on in her dancing — taking classes, workshops and joining Bohemian Caravan. |
